Terre des hommes (Tdh) is the leading Swiss child relief agency. Founded in 1960, we are committed to improving the lives of millions of the world's most vulnerable children. Through our innovative protection projects, we provide assistance to over four million children and their families in almost forty countries each year. In Europe, Tdh intervenes directly or indirectly in many countries, relying on teams based in Budapest, Albania, Greece, Kosovo, Romania, Moldova and Ukraine.
In Romania, children are affected by migration in different ways: some children migrate with their parents or are left at home, while others return or come here for the first time from conflict-ridden countries. Together with our partners, we make sure that Roma migrant students are integrated into the educational system of their host countries. To facilitate the integration of refugee children in Romania, we get them involved in educational, social and sports activities and connect them with the young people here.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under the guidance of the Migration Programme Manager, contribute to the programme development on the fight against violence (with a particular focus on gender-based violence against children and young people) through grant writing, liaison with key national stakeholders and with possible donors.
- Supervise the implementation of the CARING project, including synergies with the other programme components of the organization in Romania.
- Ensure high quality project implementation and reporting in accordance with donor and Tdh regulation, ensuring that log frames/indicators, budgets, procurement plans, and work plans are developed and followed by the consortium.
- Manage and develop the national team of the CARING project, overseeing the technical and financial management of the project.
- Manage the CARING project’s consortium (5 organizations from Greece, Hungary, Croatia, Bulgaria) to reach project’s indicators and expected outcomes.
- Occasional field visits mainly in Gorj, Dolj, Olt, Bacau counties to monitor the activities and their quality in compliance with the project in collaboration with the national project manager, M&E department and external evaluators.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other actors, donors, and key stakeholders and raise visibility around Tdh’s intervention on violence against children, representing Tdh within working groups, round tables, conferences and other events.
YOUR PROFILE
- Relevant university degree in a related field (Sociology, etc.)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project management (project design, logical framework preparation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, budget management, etc.), preferably, certified by a recognized body (Romanian National Authority for Qualifications, PMI etc.)
- Experience in managing large and remote teams
- Experience in Child Protection, Social Protection and/or development aid
- Knowledge and experience of working with or in large international organizations; experience in NGOs or in social enterprises would be an asset
- Strong knowledge and practice of Programme Cycle Management
- Ability to establish an environment of cooperation and collaboration
- Excellent communication skills; high proficiency in spoken and written English
- Results-oriented and problem-solving skills
- Ability to uphold high standards under pressure and with tight deadlines
