Safeguarding Resource and Support Hub for Eastern Europe

Safeguarding Resource and Support Hub for Eastern Europe, a new program aiming to build the institutional capacity of organizations to reduce the risk of harm of displaced people from Ukraine.

The Safeguarding Resource and Support Hub for Eastern Europe program serves organisations and people responding to the war in Ukraine. It provides practical and accessible safeguarding resources to reduce the risk of harm to those they work with.

Context:

Governments, NGOs, faith-based organisations and volunteers across Eastern Europe have mobilized to welcome and offer support to Ukrainian refugees. However, the crisis and its response present many safeguarding and protection risks. This includes sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment (SEAH) of refugees, which can occur at border crossings, in transit centres and while accessing accommodation and services, as well as other forms of violence such as human trafficking or discrimination. Children and vulnerable individuals face particularly high risks.

Goal:

The program’s role is to provide resources for safeguarding adults and children from sexual exploitation and abuse and other forms of harm.

The main offer is the online platform: https://easterneurope.safeguardingsupporthub.org/

The RSH EE has a main website that will be providing materials, including guidance notes, tip sheets, e-learning courses, research summaries, directories of service providers, and more. We also organize a helpdesk, trainings, and events such as webinars and seminars.

Targets

RSH EE targets smaller non-governmental organisations, civil society organisations, faith-based

communities, but also private individuals, volunteers, hosts, and others within the host community that respond to the crisis in Ukraine.

Duration of implementation: April 2022 – November 2023
