Through this project, we want to improve access to support and opportunities for Ukrainian refugees and refugees from other countries living in Romania. We support refugees by providing information to help them navigate the social system in Romania, we provide access to temporary emergency accommodation, we offer activities to improve mental and psychosocial health, digital skills activities, we help create youth initiatives so that they train their critical thinking and become civically engaged.
Our main aim is to empower and cultivate resilience within the refugee community.
Due to our intervention:
- Young people and adults over 16 years old participate in PM+ (Problem Management+) sessions, a method of psycho-emotional support, where help comes from a person who speaks their language, but who is not a psychologist.
- Teenagers on the move (refugees, asylum seekers, migrants) have more technologically, artistically or socially innovative initiatives. Our team provides administrative and financial support for these young leaders to implement their ideas into community-changing initiatives.
Through digital skills building activities, we aim to increase the digital literacy level of the participants, as well as introduce them to a wide variety of digital creative media, such as 3D printing, laser cutting and engraving (from wood, cardboard, artificial leather and metal products), customization of textiles and ceramics, as well as digital sewing and embroidery. All digital skills development sessions are complemented by activities that improve the emotional state of our participants.
- We improve the inclusion and engagement of migrant children in schools. Six more schools will benefit from resources, knowledge and tools to implement best practices aimed with this goal.
This project is financed through the Rapid response fund through the Swiss State Secretariat for Migration (SEM).
